How we look after your information
Last updated 24 Sep 2026
The short version
- We collect what is needed to document your case, and nothing more.
- Only you and the Voices team can see your details and files.
- With your permission, we share verified cases with the lawyers, law enforcement agencies and financial regulators working on the collective action concerning BitMart. Never with anyone else. We never sell data.
- Anything we publish is a total. Nobody can be identified from it.
- You can see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
Voices is run by Tratok as a free community initiative. For anything about your information, write to [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form). If you sign in with Tratok, we receive your Tratok account ID, name and verified email.
- Case details: your full legal name, country, optional phone number, BitMart UID and account email, the assets affected, what happened, support ticket numbers, and your own description.
- Evidence: files you upload and transaction hashes you give us. We record a digital fingerprint (SHA-256) of each file so we can show it has not been altered.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a cookie that remembers your language, and a one-way scrambled version of your IP address used only to stop abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts.
Please never send us passwords, seed phrases, private keys or 2FA codes. We do not want them and will delete them if we receive them.
Why we use it
- To document, check and organise your case, and to keep you updated about it (with your agreement).
- To prepare the collective case for lawyers, and complaints to law enforcement and regulators (with your explicit permission).
- To publish anonymous totals that show the scale of the problem.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
Who we share it with
Only if you tick the permission box on your case form, we may share your case details and evidence with:
- lawyers and law firms instructed on the collective action concerning BitMart;
- law enforcement agencies investigating matters related to BitMart; and
- financial regulators handling complaints about BitMart.
We share only what they need, and only for this purpose. You can withdraw your permission at any time on your account page. After that, nothing new is shared, but we cannot recall what was already shared.
We use trusted service providers to run this website (hosting, email delivery, and a blockchain data service to check transaction hashes, which receives the hash but not your personal details). We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
The community
If you take part in the members-only community, other members see your chosen community name and what you post, never your email address or case details. Only members with a submitted case and the Voices team can read it. Moderators can see posts that were held, hidden or deleted. If you delete your account, the text of your posts is erased and replaced with “deleted by its author”.
When you ask for a post to be translated, its text is sent to Tara, Tratok’s own AI service, to produce the translation, which we keep so it is not translated twice. Your name and account details are not sent.
How long we keep it
We keep your case for as long as the collective effort continues, and for a limited period afterwards in case it is needed for legal proceedings. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your case and files straight away.
How we protect it
Your files are stored outside the public part of our server and can only be opened by you or by our team after an extra sign-in check. Connections to Voices are encrypted. Team access to case files is logged.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself in your account. For anything else, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies and fonts
We use essential cookies only: one to keep you signed in and one to remember your language. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers when you visit.
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will tell registered members by email before the change takes effect.
